Outline

WEEK 1

In this first lesson, you will discover how journaling is different from keeping a diary. You will even discover ways that journaling can improve your physical health. Then you will learn about tools and resources you can use to strengthen your journaling practice.

WEEK 2

In this lesson, you will learn about a seven-step process to help ease you into writing. You will also discover two kinds of writing prompts to jumpstart your journaling, and how to protect your confidentiality as you write. Then you will learn four more types of journaling exercises. You will add tools to your journaling toolbox such as: list making, writing prompts, dialogues, and unsent letters.

WEEK 3

In this lesson, you will discover how to make a journal from scratch. You will also learn to customize a journal by decorating the cover and incorporating art and scrap booking techniques into your journal pages. Then you will learn to explore your thoughts, feelings, and values in the safe space of your journal.

WEEK 4

This lesson will explore emotional intelligence, which is your capacity to work effectively with your own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. You will learn how your journal can support you in learning the critical skills necessary for emotional well-being. Then you will learn new ways to express yourself and your creativity in the pages of your journal.

WEEK 5

In this lesson, you will discover how your journal can aid you in weathering change in your life. You will learn how journaling can ease the stress of unwanted change throughout the course of your life. Then you will learn about major types of dreams and dream themes. You will explore the power of symbols in dreams. Then you will learn about a dream journaling process and ways to remember your dreams.

WEEK 6

In your final lesson, you will learn how journaling can help you do everything from choose a career or college major, write a resume, prepare for job interviews, or even advance your career to the next stage. Then you will examine your journaling habit and discover ways you can keep your journaling habit fresh as the years go by.

  • This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac device.

WHEN CAN I GET STARTED?

A new session of each course opens each month, allowing you to enroll whenever your busy schedule permits!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Once a session starts, two lessons will be released each week, for the six-week duration of your course. You will have access to all previously released lessons until the course ends.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE EACH LESSON?

The interactive discussion area for each lesson automatically closes 2 weeks after each lesson is released, so you’re encouraged to complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.

WHAT IF I NEED AN EXTENSION?

The Final Exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the Final Exam has been released, you will have 2 weeks plus 10 days to complete the Final and finish any remaining lessons in your course. No further extensions can be provided beyond these 10 days
