You’ll discover that you don’t have to be a designer or an artist to produce professional-quality documents!
Lesson by lesson, you’ll explore the best ways to use the features in this program to create different types of material, how to organize and name your files, and how to reuse items such as colors and artwork. By the time you finish the course, you’ll not only be comfortable with the tools and features that InDesign CS6 offers, you’ll also know the most efficient ways to use the program to produce the materials you need for your own work, recreation, or hobbies.
Learn the different types of content you can produce with InDesign, explore the workspace and tools, and get right to work on your first project. Then, learn how to use the specific colors, styles, and logos as well as choose settings for a new file, add background images, and organize your content to create a custom letterhead and matching envelope.
Understand how to use a workflow, or an order of operations for creating an InDesign publication and go over how to organize materials on a page using tools for aligning, organizing, and laying out your content. Then, get hands-on experience designing a catalog layout as you learn how to create documents with multiple pages and different layouts.

There are no prerequisites to take this course.
- This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac device.

- Browser: The latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari (We recommend Firefox or Chrome).
- Adobe InDesign CS6 (Windows), Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium (Windows), Adobe CS6 Master Collection (Windows), InDesign CS6 (Mac), Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium (Mac), Adobe CS6 Master Collection (Mac), or Adobe CC may also be used (Mac or Windows).

WHEN CAN I GET STARTED?
A new session of each course opens each month, allowing you to enroll whenever your busy schedule permits!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once a session starts, two lessons will be released each week, for the six-week duration of your course. You will have access to all previously released lessons until the course ends.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE EACH LESSON?
The interactive discussion area for each lesson automatically closes 2 weeks after each lesson is released, so you’re encouraged to complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.
WHAT IF I NEED AN EXTENSION?
The Final Exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the Final Exam has been released, you will have 2 weeks plus 10 days to complete the Final and finish any remaining lessons in your course. No further extensions can be provided beyond these 10 days.
