TARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS IN HOLISTIC AND INTEGRATIVE HEALTH
The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the health effects of job stress; examine the prevalence of holistic and integrative health as wellness therapies and services in the United States; identify possible career options in holistic and integrative health and wellness; identify advantages and disadvantages of being your own boss; describe steps to take in preparation for a career shift; and explain key educational issues to consider related to careers in the areas of holistic and integrative health and wellness.
CHOOSING THE BUSINESS STRUCTURE FOR YOUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS BUSINESS
Once an individual decides to create their own business, one of the first important an important first steps is to decide how that business will be structured. This decision can impact the longevity and success of the business and has important legal and tax implications. The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the six basic types of business structures (sole proprietorship, limited liability company (LLC), cooperative, corporation, partnership, and S Corporation) and examine the characteristics, advantages, disadvantages, and tax considerations for each type. Important factors to evaluate when selecting a business name are also explained.
CREATING A BUSINESS PLAN FOR YOUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS BUSINESS
The goal of this course is to provide the aspiring health care entrepreneur with an overview of the purpose of a business plan, and describe the elements and functions of each aspect of that plan. Possible business exit strategies will also be reviewed.
FINANCING YOUR BUSINESS IN HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Understanding your business’ financing needs and knowing the range of financing options available to you will improve your odds of success. The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the financial issues facing new or growing businesses including types of startup expenses, key factors to consider when determining funding needs, crucial financial statements for business success, the purpose of assumption sheets and breakeven analyses, common types of financing available for businesses, and key investment ratios used in business.
MARKETING YOUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS BUSINESS
The goal of this course is to examine the purpose of marketing for business success, explain the difference between marketing and sales, explore effective ways to conduct marketing research, describe the four Ps and five Fs of marketing, identify ways to define a target market, explain product profiles and life cycles, examine various marketing vehicles and tactics, and discuss issues to consider when marketing on the Internet.
SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL HEALTHCARE ENTREPRENEURS
The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. The stages of entrepreneurship, the various types of mentors that may helpful to entrepreneurs, and more detailed examination of specific characteristics will be discussed.

WHEN CAN I GET STARTED?
A new session of each course opens each month, allowing you to enroll whenever your busy schedule permits!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once a session starts, two lessons will be released each week, for the six-week duration of your course. You will have access to all previously released lessons until the course ends.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE EACH LESSON?
The interactive discussion area for each lesson automatically closes 2 weeks after each lesson is released, so you’re encouraged to complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.
WHAT IF I NEED AN EXTENSION?
The Final Exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the Final Exam has been released, you will have 2 weeks plus 10 days to complete the Final and finish any remaining lessons in your course. No further extensions can be provided beyond these 10 days.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATE?
You must complete all lessons to receive your certificate. You must pass the final exam in all lessons with a score of 80% or higher AND complete the Evaluation Form in order to receive your Certificate of Completion. Finals are graded as Pass or No Pass. Receipt of your certificate indicates successful completion of the course and that you have passed all final exams with a score of 80% or greater. You may retake final exams as many times as necessary within the duration of the course at no additional charge.
WILL I BE AWARDED CONTINUE EDUCATION HOURS FOR THIS COURSE?
Yes, ALLEGRA Learning Solutions courses are acceptable for CE contact hours in all states, however all healthcare providers are responsible for checking the “Accreditation” list to determine if this course awards contact hours for their profession.
